Throughout the show weekend, there will be a variety of activities taking place that you may like to take part in. Some will be free but others may ask for a small fee to help cover the cost of materials.
In addition to the timed activity slots, keep an eye out for the craftsmen and artists who will also be demonstrating their skills alongside their products on their stalls. There will also be tasters available including seasonal mince pies being offered by the Pampered Chef, and a charity competition to support Breakthough Breast Cancer at the Dreams in Reality stall.
For more details or to book an activity, you will need to make your way to the craft tables in front of the stage or talk to the stallholder running the activity. The stallholder name and pitch number is in brackets next to the activity name in the list below.

Fashion Show (So Elegant - E1)
The main activity to watch out for is of course our fantastic fashion show where live models will take to the catwalk to show you a terrific range of evening wear and prom dresses, ideal for the coming season of festivities and parties! Our fashion show will be brought to you by Swindon's very own 'So Elegant'
The fashion show will take place at 2.00pm each day.
ACTIVITY FEE: £ FREE
Seasonal decorations (Stitch 'n' Sofe & baburg Images - D17)
These workshops are aimed at children approx. 6+ in age, those younger would need to be accompanied, as there will be some cutting required.
Sofia of 'Stitch 'n' Sofe' - will be decorating a hanging xmas tree decoration using a bais threading technique with beads and 'stick on' elements.
Treena of 'baburg images' - will be decorating a bookmark with photo aperture (for you to place their your own image in at home) using die cut embellishments and various 'stick on' elements

Stamping (Stampin out - D16)
'Stampin Out' will be demonstrating just why this popular craft is not only extremely effective and flexible, but a whole lot of fun too! The experienced tutors will show you a range of techniques and introduce you to some of the basic stamping equipment and accessories before guiding you through your very own first stamping experience as you create your very own card. This workshop is aimed at adults and older children.
ACTIVITY FEE to cover material costs: £TBA
Air plants (just airplants - D15)
Create your own unique mini airplant displays and help us to support charities. This workshop is mainly aimed at children, although of course adults are welcome. The workshop will consist of the following steps:-
1. Select pot
2. Choose filler for pot
3. Mix filler with Craft PVA glue to secure it into pot
4. Select air plant
5. Prepare plant for fixing to display - this will be aided
6. Attach plant to display using a cold glue

Christmas card making (Purton & Lydiard Charity Fund - D18)
Make your own Christmas Cards for mummy, daddy, Nanny or Granddad - in fact for anyone you choose! Children's workshop to 'get crafty' and enjoy making their own cards whilst helping to support the fundraising efforts of this deserving local charity (See the timetable below for details of when the workshops will run) Click HERE for more details about this workshop.

Story time (Usborne books - G7 )
For younger visitors to the show, our story teller will read a variety of popular stories from the excellent range of Usborne books being offered at the show.

Santa's lists - special collection by Father Christmas! (G1)
Do you have a Christmas list for Santa? Would you like to write one out? Father Christmas has very kindly arranged to make an early visit to Swindon to personally collect your early Christmas list! He will be appearing regularly throughout the Wiltshire Christmas Show where you can meet him, have a chat and put your list in his sack for him to take back to the North Pole with him. You can write your list out at any time or bring one you have written at home but do check the times (see below) for Santa's visits to the show if you want to hand it to him yourself.
IMPORTANT: please be sure to put child's name and address on list if you are also purchasing a 'Letter from Santa' (see below)

Letter from Santa (G1)

Courtesy of Santa's Elf Service, if you would like to order a special, personalised letter from Santa to be sent to your child, niece, nephew, grandchild etc, you can either purchase one online or download and fill in an order form and bring it along to the show with you. Order forms will also be available on the day at the show from one of Santa's special elves! (G1). Letters will be sent out Mid December to arrive just before Christmas.
These delightful letters will be personalised to help add to the magic of Christmas for your child. The letter will have a sprinkling of magic star dust and a certificate from Arthur Honeybun (Santa's Chief Elf) to say that your child is on Santa's very own 'Nice List'. There will also be some puzzles and a password to download some more seasonal activities to amuse your child during the holidays.

IMPORTANT: Orders must be received by 10th December 2008 to ensure your letter from Santa will arrive before Christmas.

Activity times:
All workshops and activities will take place either on the main show stage or using the tables set out in front of the stage. Where a fee is payable, this will be collected by the tutor/craftsman providing the activity.
